My career as an agronomist took me around the world many times until settling in Ukraine in 2003, where I have established a permanent residence and live with my family.
During the course of my career I have worked as:
an agribusiness manager (founded "Izhora Agro" near St. Petersburg, Russia);
an agribusiness consultant (USA, Netherlands, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Ukraine);
a seed specialist (USA, Russia, Netherlands, India, Sri Lanka, Africa (short term assignments in 10 countries);
an agri-insurance manager (Ukraine);
a rural finance and cooperative development specialist;
a consultant/team leader in a number of rural development projects; and.
an academic in agricultural sciences (USA; Ukraine).
Wide technical experience in agricultural science including: soil mapping, variety testing, seed certification, production
planning, seed production and processing, contract grower management, storage of a range of agricultural products under different
conditions, rapid rural appraisal, market research and market development. At the same time I have a business orientation, and can
combine both technical and business objectives effectively.
I enjoy team building and the establishment of efficient and cost-effective systems, including those with a high degree of
technical sophistication, and a strong service component. I have a strong orientation towards training, both as a lecturer and as a coach.
I have received a "Medal of Honour" from the Government of Ukraine for my leadership of a team of local and foreign experts supporting
the development of SMEs in rural areas.
I would like nothing better than to utilize my agricultural and business expertise and work in rural Ukraine.
